Beef Tacos

🛒 Ingredients (Serves 4):

For the Beef Filling:

  • 500g (1 lb) ground beef

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp chili powder

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp oregano

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 2–3 tbsp tomato paste (or ¼ cup tomato sauce)

  • ¼ cup water

  • Oil for cooking

For Assembly:

  • 8 small taco shells (soft or crispy)

  • Shredded lettuce

  • Diced tomatoes

  • Grated cheddar or Mexican blend cheese

  • Sour cream

  • Sliced avocado or guacamole

  • Fresh cilantro (optional)

  • Lime wedges

👨‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Cook the beef:
Heat a little oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté for 2–3 minutes.
Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.

  2. Season:
Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
Add tomato paste and water. Simmer for about 5–7 minutes until it thickens slightly and flavors meld.

  3. Warm the taco shells:
Heat them in a dry skillet or oven for a few minutes until warm and slightly crisp.

  4. Assemble your tacos:
Spoon beef into taco shells, then pile on your toppings — cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, avocado, etc.

  5. Finish with a squeeze of lime and fresh cilantro if you’re into it.
